We support Bloggers Against Hunger!
by soegianto on Aug.12, 2010, under Cross Project, Photo, Video
Since the first time I follow twitter account of @wfp, I believe Wood Food Program (WFP) will take action by involving bloggers to support their fight against hunger in this world. Pretty relieved realizing that Crossprojectministry.com is a part of humanity global action against the “hunger”.
Last month, World Food Programme Executive Director Josette Sheeran, expressed her enthusiasm at the WFP Hunger Seminar in London. “You [today’s students] are the generation that will end hunger… In the future we want our grandchildren to ask us what hunger and starvation were.”
With the fact that 20% of the riches who “might” doesn’t really know the feeling of hunger conquered 80% of the earth resources, meanwhile the 80% of the poor and pooerest is fighting for the 20% of the earth resources. Realizing this fact, we need to work hand in hand to overcome the problem. We should be proactively help the poor to get out from their condition. (continue reading…)
Blessed Assurance!
by soegianto on Jul.13, 2010, under Christianity, Life
Starting this Jun, I decide to join with deogracias choir in gepembri in responspe for bu margareth invitation. And for your information, I am not good at understanding melody, one of my lack is my disability of my right ear to hear at low sound (based on checking in THT RSCM few years ago). But singing this song which written by Blind composer Fanny J Crosby, give me a joy of praising Lord for His Salvation given unto us, even in our lackness we still can praise Him!
So I sing this song in the morning on the way to office, training myself to understand the melody and the lyric. Try to overcome my gap by training more often, thus I can praise Him together with deogracias. Soli deo gracias!
Here is some article from wikipedia the background of this song. Happy reading!
“Blessed Assurance” is a well-known Christian hymn. The lyrics were written in 1873 by blind hymn writer Fanny J. Crosby to the music written in 1873 by Phoebe P. Knapp.

please don’t blame Me

Numbers 20:1-5
“It had been 37 years since Israel’s first spy mission into the promised land & 40 years since the exodus from Egypt. The Bible is virtually silent about those 37 years of aimless wandering. The generation of those who had lived in Egypt had almost died off, and the new generation would soon be ready to enter the land.
After 37 years in the desert, the Israelites forgot that their wanderings were a result of their parents’ & their own sin.
They could not accept the fact that they brought their problems upon themselves, so they blamed Moses for their condition.
Often our troubles result from our own disobedience or lack of faith. We cannot blame God for our sins.
Until we face this reality, we will have little peace & no spiritual growth.”

Greatest love?
by soegianto on Nov.03, 2009, under Article, Christianity, Church, Doctrine, Life, Photo, Sharing, Thoughts

Greatest Love… it might be, but the greatest love of all is when God given his one and only son, to save me… , it’s hard to understand by non Christian, but the story might given you an inspiration and more understanding about why Christmas is important for us, not because of that consumerism culture from the west but because He love me, so He come to die, come to save the unworthy, sinful, lost person like me… it is the greatest love of all….
this what Jesus,some known him as Isa Al Masih, said “This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you. No one shows greater love than when he lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
(Joh 15:12-14 ISV)
The Father loves the Son and has put everything in his hands. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who disobeys the Son will not see life.
(Joh 3:36)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
(Joh 3:16 MKJV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You love me, when I was so unlovely,
You sought me, when I was lost,
You show me, how much You really love me,…
When you bought me with a highest cost,
Chorus:
There’s no greater love than this,
There’s no greater love than this,
That a man would give His life for a friend
There’s no highest sacrifice
That a man would give His life …
You have paid a precious price for me
You love me, when I was so unworthy,
You cleansed me with Your own blood,
You clothed me with righteousness and mercy,
And you crowned me with Your steadfast love
Ketika Atheis berbicara tentang berdakwah
by soegianto on Sep.28, 2009, under Article, Christianity, Life, Thoughts, Video
Sebuah artikel tentang seorang pelawak dan pesulap Penn Jillette, dia adalah seseorang yang dikenal orang sebagai “Magic Bullet.” Sebelumnya saya tidak mengenal dia, sampai hari ini saya baca artikel tentang beliau pada sebuah media sosial.
Beliau selama lebih dari satu dekade, dia bekerja sebagai magician enam hari dalam seminggu di Las Vegas dengan sesama pesulap Teller. Kedua anggota Penn & Teller duo adalah pemain berbakat yang juga terjadi untuk menjadi pendukung ateisme-kepercayaan bahwa tidak ada Allah.
Penn akan menjadi orang pertama yang mengakui bahwa dia bisa kasar, vulgar, dan berpendirian keras tentang ketidakkepercayaan kepada Tuhan. Tidak mengherankan, Penn telah melakukan sejumlah serangan terhadap Kekristenan. salah satunya yang dipost di
YouTube, “The Bible is Bulls—t” (silakan tebak-menebak kata-kata yang dihilangkan), telah mengumpulkan lebih dari 1,4 juta kali dilihat sejak rilis beberapa tahun lalu. Dan, ketika memberikan tanda tangan, Penn biasanya menambahkan komentar “tidak ada Allah” berdekatan dengan tanda tangannya.
Wowww….
seorang Atheis sejati, namun yang mengejutkan adalah sebuah Posting dia pada bulan Desember 2008.
Dalam klip YouTube yang berjudul “A Gift of Alkitab,” Penn telah bertemu dengan seorang “pria besar” yang menunggu di pinggir dalam apa yang disebut “posisi mematung” setelah pertunjukan. Dia berlama-lama, menunggu kesempatan untuk berbicara dengan Penn setelah penggemarnya pergi. Ketika suasana sudah memungkinkan, penonton yang tidak disebutkan namanya ini mendekat. Penn menggambarkan apa yang terjadi selanjutnya:
” penonton itu berkata, “Saya baru saja menonton pertunjukan tadi malam di pameran dan aku melihat pertunjukan dan aku menyukainya.” Dia sangat memuji tentang penggunaan bahasa, dan berkata tentang hal-hal baik. dan dia berkata , “Aku membawa ini untukmu,” dan ia memberiku Injil Gideon edisi saku termasuk Mazmur. Dia berkata “Aku menulis di bagian depan, dan aku ingin kau memiliki ini. Aku agak berda’wah.” Dan dia berkata” Saya seorang pengusaha, aku waras, tidak gila. Dan dia terus menerus menatap tepat di mata sambil berbicara. (continue reading…)
…cerita dibalik Tumpukan Alkitab
by soegianto on Apr.16, 2009, under Article, Life, Thoughts
Pernah menyadari ada berapa Alkitab yang anda punyai di rumah? Saya coba menghitung :
1. Alkitab Bahasa Indonesia di mobil dalam cover coklat, pemberian dari seorang rekan dan teman-temanya
2. Alkitab Bahasa Indonesia, kondisi robek-robek, tapi tiap pagi dipake untuk SATE (kalo kaga salah ngelihat kondisi yang begitu rusak di gereja, terus dibawa kerumah
3. Alkitab Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari (CEV), pemberian dari seorang sahabat.
4. Alkitab bahasa Inggris NIV Study Bible
5. Alkitab yang digunakan oleh Ayah saya
6. Alkitab yang digunakan oleh Ibu saya
7. Alkitab Gideon Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Jepang
Sebuah kisah dari mailing list PESTA memberikan inspirasi bahwa Firman TUHAN sanggup merubah orang dan saat yang bersamaan juga mampu mengeraskan hati orang.
Menyadari melalui renungan yang dibagikan bahwa yang dikehendaki TUHAN adalah “Sebab Aku menyukai kasih setia, dan bukan korban sembelihan, dan menyukai pengenalan akan Allah, lebih dari pada korban-korban bakaran.”
(Hos 6:6 ITB)
Pertanyaan setelah anda menghitung berapa Alkitab yang anda punya dan membaca artikel ini, Apakah dengan segitu banyak Alkitab kita sudah menjadi berkat buat orang lain?
Selamat membaca :
Andrea Wolfe, staf di kantor CoMission di Raleigh, North Carolina menceritakan kisah berikut:
Di tahun 1930-an Stalin memerintahkan agar kekristenan disapu bersih: baik Alkitab maupun para pengikutnya. Di Stavropol, Rusia, perintah ini dijalankan dengan penuh kebencian. Ribuan Alkitab disita, dan banyak orang percaya diangkut ke gulag-gulag—kamp-kamp penjara Rusia—di sana kebanyakan dari mereka akhirnya mati, dengan status sebagai “musuh negara”. (continue reading…)
Wa Habibi, Good Friday Hymn sung by Fairouz
by soegianto on Nov.07, 2008, under Christianity, Music, Poems
This is one of two official Catholic hymns adopted from the 20th century. This new Good Friday hymn is sung by the Lebanese singer Fairuz. I have set this song to the Fourteen Stations of the Cross.
Arabic Lyrics:
وا حبيبي وا حبيبي أي حال أنت فيه
من رآك فشجاك أنت أنت المفتدي
يا حبيبي أي ذنب حمل العدل بنيه
فأزادوك جراحاً ليس فيها من شفاء
حين في البستان ليلاً سجد الفادي الإلة
كانت الدنيا تصلي للذي أغنى الصلاة
شجر الزيتون يبكي و تناديه الشفاء
يا حبيبي كيف تمضي أترى ضاع الوفاء
English Translation:
My Love, My Love
What has befallen you?
Who saw you and grieved for you,
You who are righteous?
My Love, what is the sin of our times and our children?
These wounds have no cure.
Entirely dressed in black, Fairouz, the legendary Lebanese singer, kneels with great humility before the altar and the crucifix upon which our Lord Jesus Christ was nailed and unleashes her impeccable voice as she sings in exaltation: “Today, He was hung on a piece of wood, The Man who hung the world above water…. We kneel before your Passion o’ Christ….We kneel before your Passion o’ Christ.” The year was 1965, and the place, a church in Beirut, Lebanon.
Siapakah Kristus
by soegianto on Jul.29, 2008, under Christianity, Church, Sharing
Siapakah Kristus ? bagi banyak orang Kristus adalah seorang yang baik, sebagian lagi menaruh dia sebagai tokoh yang berpengaruh di dalam sejarah, sebagian lagi melihat dia sebagai seorang nabi, namun tidak lebih dari itu, sebagian lagi melihat dia tidak lebih dari seorang pecundang yang mati di kayu salib.
Mengapa banyak orang yang memperdebatkannya, tidak sedikit yang mengolok-oloknya, tetapi ada berjuta-juta orang rela mati bagiNya?
Siapakah Kristus bagi anda? apakah anda pernah mendengar tentang dia?
Deus providebit – GOD will provide
by soegianto on Jul.11, 2008, under Christianity, Cross Project, Photo, Sharing
Few months ago, when the idea to create a cross project became a vision to us, there is one biggest question to ensure the project could run which is “who will buy the products?” The idea to empower the housewives to increase the nutrition infusion through doing their cultural mandate will eventually lost its hope.
But as it is written in the bible “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Php 4:6, thus we put the biggest question of “who will buy the products” to The Biggest Solution provider – our Lord Jesus Christ -.
As we put our anxious into prayer and thanksgiving unto Him, we decide to start the project. At the beginning this project, everything seems find. We start by sharing this project to a lot of people from local church diaconal to person in charge in Jalan Kaca. Not all responses are good, but we find that even in great barrier there is an “invisible” hand that allows us to keep run the project. (continue reading…)
